RETRO INSPECCION
Type | physical installation and sculpture.

Retro Inspección is a physical installation that took place at CRUDO art gallery in February 2025, as part of the Taller Compartido program.
The work explores the relationship between object and architecture, questioning the boundaries between the habitable and the uninhabitable, the functional and the aesthetic. Through a playful manipulation of forms and materials, it challenges the viewer to engage in an introspective exploration of space from different perspectives and to reconsider which elements belong to architectural space and which stand alone as autonomous pieces.
The space is inhabited by objects that oscillate between the abstract and the recognizable. The pieces, with out-of-scale proportions, feature smooth, sleek, and flawless surfaces that contrast with their insertion into a context rich in architectural detail. This dialogue between the found and the fabricated generates a metaphysical space where the viewer’s perception is constantly being tested.

Where does the object end
and architecture begin?

The use of found materials—such as corrugated aluminum pipes, ventilation diffusers, and patio sinks—is combined with newly crafted, carefully designed objects. This combination not only underscores the tension between the industrial and the handcrafted, but also contributes to the creation of a space filled with questions:
Where does the object end and architecture begin?
How do we relate to what is considered habitable when its limits are called into question?
